Answering Her This again. Winning, Famous People and Works of Art

Kendra’s hosting an awesome virtual chit-chat-a-thon of 6 random questions, and it was so fun to participate last week and I “met” a number of new bloggers through it, so I thought I would join in again this weekend!

1. What’s something you’ve won and how did you win it?

I am feeling really cheesy and want to say “The lottery of life” but I am truly feeling very blessed lately with my wonderful husband and our children, but who wants to hear all that PDA… I really can’t think of anything big I have won, maybe a door prize or some raffles. I “won” a job I had out of 4,000 applicants, I have always been very proud of that.

I asked my husband if there was something I had won that I am not thinking of, and he said: “My Heart” so I guess we are both in a cheesy mood. So I can’t help but add a few of these:

2. Do you save old greeting cards and letters, or throw them all away? Why?

I do, but then I got through purges and throw them all out… but I still have most of the cards the kids have gotten, and some from our wedding.

3. When you’re at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?

Barefoot most of the time… pretty much all of the time, unless I broke a glass all over the floor like the other day. In Canada we pretty much always take off our shoes at the door when we enter anyone’s home, and I am just not much of a slipper person, or even socks, especially since we got heated floors in the kitchen! Such a smart idea.

4. Who’s the most famous person you have ever met?

Met, as in spoke to or shook hands with? Or seen? I am guessing not seen… but I have see Pope JPII and Pope Benedict, and it would be more fun to talk about them. Met in person; Colm Meany (actor from Star Trek among others) hung out at the pub I worked at while he was filming around here and I met him a number of times, as well as our Mayor, Nenshi, who is pretty famous, atleast for Canada fame levels. I also met Eduardo Verastegui while I was working with the producers of his movie Bella. But none of these people are really world famous or anything.

5. What has been your best work of art?

IMG_4745IMG_4283I would have to say, these two. Wouldn’t you agree? Well you certainly would if you could see any of the other “art” I have made.

Like this piece of art work… sand toilet, everyone has made one of these right?

6. What’s your strongest sense?

I am finding this question very difficult so I will do a sense ranking… out of ten

Eyesight – (20/20) I would give it a 10
Hearing – also pretty good (listening is a totally different thing right?) I can hear baby cries from across the street and through 4 closed doors, so 9.5
Smell – If there is bacon or popcorn or coffee to smell, I’m all about it, but strange smells from the car or back of the fridge, I can kind of ignore for awhile. so maybe only a 7
Taste -I have been watching the documentary Somm and the things they can tell about a glass of wine from a single taste are CRAZY!! So I wouldn’t describe my palate as that refined, especially since I can’t tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi, maybe only a 6

Touch – Definitly my lest refined sense, I have trouble feeling my own pulse, let alone someone else. When I am pregnant I can’t even feel where the baby’s head is, so I need to work on that. 5

Anyway this has been, interesting…. looking forward to hearing some other peoples answers which will certainly be better than mine.

Haha I love the sand toilet. So funny. And my kids are my best works of art too – I am hopelessly inartistic in every way 🙂

I’m so behind on blogs, but yours has been one I have been most looking forward to reading! So glad you are still at the blogging game. Hopefully I’ll be back up and running regularly in the near future. As for that sand toilet…WHAT? I have never seen anything like that before! 🙂
